OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Comets host a combined Star Wars and Boy Scout Night Saturday evening during a two-week stretch of home contests at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark to close out April and open the month of May.
For Saturday’s 6:05 p.m. game, Comets players and coaches will wear special edition Star Wars-inspired jerseys on the field that will be available for purchase through an online auction with proceeds benefitting Niagara Cares.
The game presentation experience will immerse fans into the Star Wars universe throughout the night, including special appearances by Star Wars characters in advance of Star Wars Day — an informal holiday celebrating the legendary movie series on May 4 each year.
Group tickets are available for Saturday night for Scout troops and Cub Scout packs as troops and leaders in uniform will be invited to join an on-field parade and recognition to honor their achievements prior to the Comets’ game. Group tickets also include a limited-edition Comets hat and scouts will also receive a patch.
Additionally, Danny Mantle — son of Hall of Fame center fielder Mickey Mantle — is scheduled to throw out a ceremonial first pitch before Saturday’s game. The Comets’ new name and brand honors Mantle, known as the “Commerce Comet.”
