The Pawtucket Red Sox, in partnership with CVS Health, tonight begin their new program in which kids aged 16 & under are free with a paying adult on Monday-Thursday home games throughout 2018.
With temperatures stuck in the 40s, however the PawSox will expand the program the next three days and recognize that "Everyone is a Kid" at heart. Thus everyone - kids, "grown-up" kids, and even "senior citizen" kids - will be welcome in general admission areas tonight, tomorrow night, and Wednesday's matinee.
"While it may not be the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, we realize it will certainly be a bit brisk at McCoy Stadium these next three days," said PawSox Executive Vice President and General Manager Dan Rea. "With that in mind, we offer all fans free general admission tickets for the games tonight and tomorrow (both at 6:15 pm) and Wednesday afternoon at 12:05 pm."
The PawSox will be hosting the Buffalo Bisons (AAA-Toronto), who just spent the weekend sitting in Rochester, NY, where their entire season-opening 3-game series was postponed due to rain, snow, and cold weather.
Fans who have already purchased tickets to these three games will receive an additional free flex ticket that can be redeemed for future PawSox games.
Our loyal season ticket holders will also receive a warm perquisite: they will be invited to take comfort in any of our available field-level suites during these next three games.
And because fans may be in need even more "warmth" in addition to the usual McCoy hospitality, the PawSox Baseball Store will offer a 10% discount on all blankets that are sold inside the store. These items were the biggest sellers during Opening Weekend.
"Our hearty fans braved chilly weather this weekend-and had a great time doing so," said PawSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg. "We seek to thank the fans who weather wintery weather-whether it's with blankets, suites, or the warmth of being our guests."
