Enright's Complete Game Silences RailRiders

Roller Homers in Loss
May 15, 2014

Allentown, Pa. - Kyle Roller blasted his second home run in three days, but the Lehigh Valley IronPigs' (Philadelphia Phillies) offense pounded out 14 base hits, including five extra-base hits to sink the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (19-20) Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park. The loss marks the fourth-straight for SWB and puts them below the .500 mark for the first time since May 5.

The story began to take shape in fourth. Tyler Henson led the frame off with a single, SWB starter Shane Greene followed by inducing consecutive fly outs to Darin Ruf and Jim Murphy before allowing a run-scoring double to Cameron Rupp. Steve Susdorf brought the games second run around on a single to left that plated Rupp for the 2-0 lead.

Kyle Roller cut the deficit in half with a solo home run to lead off the fifth. The home run by Roller marked his second of the series against Lehigh Valey.

The IronPigs chased Greene in the sixth after Ruf singled to open the inning and Jim Murphy followed with a double to left. After Greene exited, Danny Burawa walked Rupp and allowed both inherited runners to score on an extra-base hit by Steve Susdorf. Burawa retired the next three batters in order to end the sixth with the deficit standing at 4-1.

Six-straight batters reached in the eighth, three coming around to score on five hits. Murphy highlighted the inning with a home run to left. The lead sat at a staggering 7-1 upon the conclusion of the frame.

Barry Enright (1-2) tossed a complete game, retiring his final nine batters in order to earn the win while Greene (0-2) was slated with the loss, his second-straight.
