May the Force Be With You: RailRiders Return Home Thursday

Moosic, Pa. - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) get a brief respite from playing 16 of 20 on the road when they open a quick four-game homestand against the Rochester Red Wings (Minnesota Twins) on Thursday. Storm troopers and Boy Scout night highlight the short set at PNC Field.

It all gets underway Thursday, May 22 when the RailRiders welcome in the Red Wings for the first of the four-game set at 6:35 p.m. It's Thirsty Thursday presented by Budweiser at PNC Field as fans can enjoy $1 Bud Light and Pepsi products until two hours after gates open. Grab a drink and enjoy the soothing sounds of the Kris and George Duo while presenting media partner Rock 107 welcomes each guest through the plaza. The series opener will be televised on My Network TV with the Voice of the RailRiders John Sadak and broadcast partner Aaron Berlin on the call.

Grab a tent and your best bug spray and join us at PNC Field Friday, May 23 at 7:05 p.m. as the RailRiders host the second game against the Red Wings. Friday is Boy Scout Night presented by Dick's Sporting Goods, as young humanitarians throughout the area are encouraged to join the RailRiders for a parade on the diamond prior to first pitch. Fans in attendance are encouraged to camp out on PNC Field after the game's conclusion. Friday Fireworks will have the RailRiders light up the heavens courtesy of Jack Williams Tire and Auto and Kumho Tire. The Fake Uncle Jack band makes an appearance at the park, while RailRiders media partner Bold Gold Media Group stops by.

The Force will be strong with the RailRiders as Darth Vader and the dark side invade PNC Field on Saturday, May 24 and Star Wars Night at the ballpark. Patrons are encouraged to dress at their favorite character from the epic films as members of the 501st Garrison Carida will be in attendance taking pictures and interacting with fans. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. with the pregame sounds of the J2 band and media partner 97.9 BHT. Summer is upon NEPA as burgers, brats, and hot dogs begin to roast on barbecue grills throughout region. Saturday is giveaway day at PNC Field as the RailRiders will attempt to keep barbecue stains off your Sunday's best with the first 1,500 fans 18 and over receiving a RailRiders branded patriotic BBQ apron courtesy of MetLife. Active and retired military will also receive a BOGO ticket thank to MetLife. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

The four-game run concludes with a Sunday matinee against the Red Wings on May 25 at 1:05 p.m. Sunday means Family FunDay at PNC Field presented by NEPA Honda Dealers. Fans will have the opportunity to receive autographs prior to the 1:05 p.m. start time while kids are encouraged to stay after the conclusion of the game and run the same bases the RailRiders circle. Local stations WNEP-TV and Magic 93 will also be on hand throughout the day and the game will air live on My Network TV with Sadak and Berlin on the call.
