San Bernardino, CA – Rancho put together a solid effort on Sunday and cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Inland Empire 66ers, in the final game of the six-game set at San Manuel Stadium.

Luis Rodriguez and Yunior Garcia belted back-to-back homers and the Quakes’ pitching staff tossed their best game of the series, helping Rancho to their second win of the six-game series.

Peter Heubeck, Ronan Kopp, Adolfo Ramirez and Gabe Emmett threw shutout baseball over eight innings, until the 66ers finally broke through against Maidson Jeffrey with a pair in the ninth.

Rodriguez blasted a three-run homer against Joey Walsh (2-3) in the fourth and Garcia followed with his seventh of the year, giving Rancho a 4-0 lead.

They’d add one in the sixth and two important runs in the ninth, as Griffin Lockwood-Powell and Gaige Howard each collected an RBI hit, giving Rancho a 7-0 advantage.

Kopp (4-2) was credited with the win in relief, as he tossed three scoreless frames.

The Quakes will return home to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, July 12th, when they host the Fresno Grizzlies in a special 11:00am Summer Camp Day. Maddux Bruns (0-2) takes on Jarrod Cande in the opener. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at LoanMart Field...Go Quakes!
