Rancho Cucamonga, CA – The return of Julio Urías to LoanMart Field for the first time since 2019 didn’t change the momentum in the series, as Rancho won for the fifth time in six games against Lake Elsinore, beating the Storm for a third straight day, 5-1.

Urias headlined for a near-sellout crowd of over 4,000 fans, as he used 60 pitches to strike out eight Storm hitters over four innings of one-run baseball.

The Quakes backed him with two in the second and then three more in the fourth, taking the lead for good against Storm starter Miguel Mendez (0-2).

Kenneth Betancourt had two hits and a season-high four RBIs to lead Rancho’s ten-hit attack.

Rancho relievers Christian Romero (5-0) and Payton Martin combined to allow one base-runner over five scoreless frames, helping to limit the Storm to just three hits on the day. Martin retired all nine hitters to earn his first pro save.

The Quakes (3-0, 42-27) will take back-to-back days off, then continue their 12-game home stand on Wednesday, as they host Visalia in the opening game of a six-game series. Don’t miss the action on Thursday, which will be a Thirsty Thursday, with drink specials throughout the night, thanks to Tam’s Burgers. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. Go Quakes!
