The Reading Fightin Phils fell off the Somerset Patriots in an 5-4 extra innings contest on Tuesday Night. Logan Landon tied up the ballgame with an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth. The Fightins had the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the tenth but failed to score. Kyle Dohy threw an immaculate inning on nine straight strikes to strikeout the side in the top of the sixth.

The Patriots and R-Phils battled back and forth in this contest as the lead changed hands numerous times.

Reading led off the scoring in the bottom of the first as Madison Stokes sent home Rafael Marchan. Marchan doubled in his first Double-A bat in Baseballtown.

Somerset tied in up in the next half. A sacrifice fly from Isiah Gilliam plated Michael Beltre.

The R-Phils put two more on the board thanks to Luke Miller’s eleventh home run of the season.

The Patriots once again tied it up with a two run shot of their own from Beltre.

Somerset took the lead for the first time in the top of the fifth. Jesus Bastidas was able to cross home as Oswald Peraza reached on a throwing error from Josh Hendrickson.

Landon tied it up a four a piece in the bottom of the ninth after Colby Fitch walked to get on base.

In the tenth, an RBI single from Beltre sent home the placed runner to make it 5-4 Somerset.

Hendrickson got the start tonight throwing 4.2 IP, allowing five hits and four earned runs. He passed the ball to Dohy to get the final out of the fifth. Dohy struck out four batters in one and a third innings, not letting up a hit. Aneurys Zabala pitched a clean two innings of work. Jonathan Hennigan got a 1-2-3 top of the ninth on just four pitches. Brian Marconi (L, 1-2) was called upon for the tenth inning. He got two quick outs but allowed the placed runner to cross home.
