For the second day in a row, the Worcester Red Sox have walked off the Rochester Red Wings, this time by a score of 9-8. The three-hour, six minute affair was played in front of 7,110 fans in Worcester, MA.

For the fourth-straight game against Worcester, the Wings scored in the first inning thanks to an RBI-single from 3B Jake Alu which scored RF Josh Palacios. It would mark Alu’s fourth-straight game with one, and an RBI in seven of his last eight games (18 total)…in his last eight games (dating back to 8/10), the Boston College alum has 12 RBI, leading the club and ranking second in the International League over that span.

The Wings would record seven first-inning hits including RBI-doubles from C Riley Adams and 2B Adrian Sanchez, scoring five in the process.

The Wings would score one in the 2nd thanks to another *Jake Alu *run-scoring single.

After Worcester would score one in each of the first two half innings, Rochester would use three-straight doubles to add a pair of runs. Adrian Sanchez would register his second of the night while SS Jecksson Flores (5) and CF Andrew Stevenson (26) each picked up their first and only of the night.

After leading 8-3 entering the bottom of the fourth, Worcester would chip away at their lead, eventually tying the game in the bottom of the 8th at eight runs apiece.

After the bases were loaded up in the 9th with one out, WooSox infielder Ryan Fitzgerald brought in the game winning run with an RBI-single off LHP Matt Cronin.

After failing to record a multi-hit effort on Wednesday, four Red Wings would tally multi-hit performances in tonight’s loss.

The Wings’ 13 hit effort was the most hits in a game since 8/12 vs. Norfolk and their most in a loss since 8/10 vs. Norfolk.

It was the 16th time this season Rochester has out hit their opponent and lost, recording 13 hits to Worcester’s 10.

Starter RHP *Joan Adon *logged four innings of work, allowing three runs on four hits and five walks, all while striking out five.

RHP Franklyn Kilome will toe the rubber for the Red Wings’ 6:45 Friday night matchup versus Worcester, looking to build upon his last outing, one in which he went five hitless innings on 8/12. Kilome will be opposed by rehabbing Red Sox righty, Brayan Bello.
