Seven Run Fifth Powers Rome Over Charleston

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Charleston Riverdogs 8-1 Sunday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 1,502. The win gave the Braves the series win three games to one. Rome grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the third inning when Greyson Jenista singled home a run.

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Charleston Riverdogs 8-1 Sunday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 1,502. The win gave the Braves the series win three games to one. 
Rome grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the third inning when Greyson Jenista singled home a run. The Riverdogs tied the game in the fourth on a solo home run by Dermis Garcia (9). Two out magic happened in the Braves half of the fifth as Drew Waters doubled with two away and later came around to score on AJ Graffanino's RBI single giving Rome the 2-1 edge. Rome wasn't through as Jenista walked putting runners at first and second before William Contreras doubled down the left field line scoring two runs. Jean Carlos Encarnacion and Brendan Venter each singled home a run and Hagen Owenby doubled home two more giving the Braves an 8-1 advantage. The Braves bullpen took over for Huascar Ynoa in the eighth and finished the final two frames for the 8-1 victory. 
Ynoa (7-8) enjoyed a solid outing getting the win going seven innings allowing one run on six hits and fanning six. Alex Mauricio (0-1) is tagged with the loss.
