MiLB.com announced the San Francisco Giants’ Organization All Stars on Tuesday, with 2021 River Cats MVP Jason Krizan earning the nod at first base.

Krizan, who also was the team’s Offensive Player of the Year last season, re-signed a MiLB deal in Dec.

The 2021 Triple-A West hits champion (136) led the River Cats in doubles (26), runs (67), RBIs (73), multi-hit games (38), and multi-RBI games (18). He also set a career-high with 16 home runs.

The 32-year-old was previously a MiLB.com Organization All-Star with the Mets in 2019 and was on the latest edition of the River Cats Nine Lives Podcast hosted by Johnny Doskow. You can listen to that on Rivercats.com, YouTube, Spotify, and on Apple Podcasts.

Also in the news this past week was outfielder Drew Robinson. Robinson’s first home run in his comeback from a 2020 suicide attempt placed 36th on Sports Illustrated’s Hot Clicks 100: The Best Stories, Tweets and Videos of 2021.

In addition to the Krizan and Robinson honors, the Giants added a right-hander with starting experience, signing Bryan Brickhouse to a minor league deal on Dec. 15.

Brickhouse, a 6’0 pitcher from The Woodlands, Texas, pitched the entire 2021 season with Double-A Tulsa (Dodgers), going 1-3 with a 3.45 ERA, 51 strikeouts, 1.12 WHIP, and .226 opposing batting average in 19 games (10 starts) over 60.0 innings.

The 29-year-old was originally the Kansas City Royals’ third-round pick out of The Woodlands High School in 2011. He pitched in the Royals organization through the end of the 2019 season before signing with the Cubs in Dec. of that year.

Following a release from the Cubs, Brickhouse pitched for the independent Team Texas in the Constellation Energy League with Roger Clemens as his manager in 2020, striking out 15 in 13.0 innings.

Brickhouse was a Mid-Season All-Star with Wilmington (High-A) in 2018 and was a Pitcher of the Week with Lexington (Single-A) in 2013.

He is 12-17 with a 4.35 ERA, 257 strikeouts, 1.35 WHIP, and .229 opposing batting average in 292.0 career MiLB innings.
