RENO, NV - Despite two home runs, the Sacramento River Cats (38-48) were held in check and dropped their Independence Day matchup with the Reno Aces (39-47) by the final score of 10-5.

The River Cats jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a two-run home run by Chris Shaw in the very first inning, his 17th of the season. Sacramento would go hitless until the eighth inning when Gregor Blanco got in on the action with a two-run homer of his own. Eventually, the River Cats fell 10-5 after recording just four hits on the evening.
