Crestfallen: RailRiders lose 13-1 to IronPigs

ALLENTOWN, PA (August 14, 2026) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders dropped a 13-1 decision to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Friday night at Coca-Cola Park. The IronPigs took control in the fourth, sending the RailRiders to their third loss in four games this week.
Anthony Volpe staked the RailRiders to a 1-0 lead in the third with a solo homer to right-center. The 408-foot blast extended his hitting streak to seven straight games.

Lehigh Valley took a 3-1 lead in the fourth on a run-scoring wild pitch and a two-run home run from Robert Moore off Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starter Adam Kloffenstein.
Tommy Pham extended the IronPigs advantage to 7-1 with a sixth-inning grand slam. Lehigh Valley plated five runs on five hits in the seventh, keyed by a Carter Kieboom home run and a two-run single by Pham, giving Lehigh Valley a 12-1 lead before adding one more run in the eighth to close out the scoring.
Kloffenstein (2-9) allowed three runs on three hits over 4.2 innings with six walks, a hit batter, and two strikeouts in the loss. Brian Keller (1-3) worked five innings of one-run ball for the win.
Brendan Beck and Alan Rangel start for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Lehigh Valley, respectively, in game five of the set on Saturday night. First pitch is slated for 6:35 P.M.
