WORCESTER, MA (August 26, 2026) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders beat the Worcester Red Sox 7-1 Wednesday night. A four-run second capped by back-to-back jacks and a quiet bullpen propelled SWB to their victory. Everyone in the starting nine recorded at least one hit. BOX SCORE | SWB 7 WOR 1

WORCESTER, MA (August 26, 2026) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders beat the Worcester Red Sox 7-1 Wednesday night. A four-run second capped by back-to-back jacks and a quiet bullpen propelled SWB to their victory. Everyone in the starting nine recorded at least one hit.

The RailRiders scored the first runs of the game, plating four in the second inning. Oswaldo Cabrera worked a walk and Tyler Hardman singled to reach. Kenedy Corona laced a three-run shot for his seventh homer in Triple-A. Anthony Volpe followed with a long ball of his own, marking back-to-back homers for a 4-0 lead.

In the next frame, the RailRiders recorded five singles with Cabrera and Hardman driving in runs for a 6-0 score.

Worcester got one back in the bottom half off a single from Braiden Ward and a pair of RailRiders errors.

SWB's bullpen was light's out, limiting the Red Sox baserunners throughout the rest of the game.

The RailRiders tacked on one more in the ninth. Jasson Domínguez walked to reach and J.C. Escarra's hit moved him into scoring position. Marco Luciano ripped a run-scoring single for a 7-1 advantage.

Hayden Merda impressed in a spot start throwing two quiet frames. Harrison Cohen (W, 2-1) earned the win after only allowing one unearned run. Eli Morgan and Chris Kean also pitched a pair of shutout innings each. Luis Gil and Zach Messinger combined to close it out in the ninth. Boston's #17 prospect Gage Ziehl (L, 1-3) took the loss after letting up six runs in three frames.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre continues their series against Worcester with a 6:05 PM first pitch on Thursday night. SWB has Adam Kloffenstein as their starter and the Red Sox will send Boston's #16 prospect Blake Wehunt to the mound.
