While the season began without playoffs on the schedule, Minor League Baseball announced a playoff structure at most levels on July 1. In Double-A, the top two teams based on record, regardless of division, will square off in a best of five-game championship series September 21 through September 26.
Current standings for playoff position:
- #1 Seed : Somerset Patriots (72-46), would host 9/24-9/26
- #2 Seed: Akron RubberDucks (72-46), would host 9/21 & 9/22
- Bowie Baysox (72-47)
