Bridgewater, New Jersey – The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, have announced that the team has been cleared to return home to TD Bank Ballpark for games this weekend from Friday, September 10th through Sunday, September 12th.

Like much of the surrounding area, TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater was underwater and suffered damage caused by the flooding from Tropical Storm Ida. The Patriots moved the first three games of the series against the Hartford Yard Goats to Dunkin’ Donuts Park as the teams waited to see where the final three games would be able to be played.

“We’d like to thank Major League Baseball, the Yankees, and the Colorado Rockies for their support and guidance during this difficult time,” said Patriots President/General Manager Patrick McVerry. “It goes without saying how thankful we are that our friends at the Yard Goats took us in this week. They stepped up and made our team feel welcome when we couldn’t be at home.”

Once the water receded from the field, the Patriots grounds crew, led by Dan Purner, and the team’s front office worked to get the ballpark back in shape to host games.

“I can’t tell you how proud and appreciative I am of our tireless staff that worked to get our home ready again after the flooding hit this area so hard,” said Patriots Co-Chairman Jonathan Kalafer. “Opening the ballpark after everything we’ve all been through is a tribute to the resilience of this great community that we serve. This game is for them and hopefully will serve as a reminder that together, we can accomplish anything.”

Co-Chairman Josh Kalafer added, “It is truly remarkable to see where we were just days ago and where we are now. We are grateful that we will be able to get back to welcoming the community to the ballpark and hopefully bringing that joy back to those who need it during these difficult times.”

The Patriots have several plans in place to fundraise to help those affected by the flooding throughout Central New Jersey. The team will host 50-50 raffles at the ballpark each day this weekend, as well as an upcoming online auction that will be announced in the coming days.

Tickets are available for all three games this weekend at somersetpatriots.com, by calling (908) 252-0700, or at the box office at the ballpark.
