Bridgewater, NJ -- The Somerset Patriots (60-39) lost their season-high fourth straight game to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (39-60), resulting in just their second series loss of the season.

The day began with Somerset resuming its suspended game from Thursday night, losing 11-8. The originally scheduled Friday night game, which was shortened to seven innings as part of a double header, was a 10-5 loss for the Patriots.

Somerset hit three home runs in the second game of the day, highlighted by Anthony Volpe's team-leading 16th long ball of the season.

Blake Perkins also went deep for his career-high 11th home run and Rodolfo Duran capped the scoring in the final game with his sixth homer.

Thursday's originally scheduled game began with the Patriots already trailing 10-1, behind five Binghamton homers that included two hit by Mets No. 2 prospect Brett Baty.

The five home runs, which all came over the game's first three innings, were the most allowed by the Patriots in a game since becoming the Double-A affiliate of the Yankees.

In the resumption of the game, Somerset outscored Binghamton 7-1, getting the game to within three runs when the final out was recorded in the bottom of the ninth inning.

As part of the Patriots' seven unanswered runs to end the game, Jesus Bastidas hit his career-high 12th homer of the season over the center field wall.

The losing pitcher was Blas Castano, who gave up a career-high nine runs (five earned) in his Double-A debut, which lasted 1.2 innings.

In the second game of the night, Somerset took a 1-0 lead in the first inning behind an RBI-single by Jeisson Rosario.

Binghamton then jumped in front 3-1 behind Ronny Mauricio's 20th home run of the season and his fifth vs. Somerset.

The Patriots took their second and final lead of the game behind the home runs from Volpe and Perkins.

Pitching into the sixth inning with a 4-3 lead in tact, Will Warren was chased out of the game and tagged with his fourth loss of the season. Warren allowed a career-high eight earned runs over 5.2 IP.

Binghamton would go on to score seven runs in the inning, which featured 13 batters, five walks, two hit batsmen and one error.

With the two losses, the Patriots dropped to 60-39 in total on the season and 16-14 in the second half.
