Pair of 19-year-olds lead Cardinals to series-opening win

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - The battery duo of Yhoiker Fajardo and Rainiel Rodriguez, both just 19-year-olds, carried the Cardinals to a 4-3 win over the Arkansas Travelers on Tuesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.
Rodriguez recorded hits in his first four at-bats and finished 4-for-5. He started the scoring with a two-run double in the fourth inning.
Fajardo shut the Travelers down for just one run over a season-high six innings. He allowed seven hits, struck out five, and walked two and picked up his first win at Double-A.
Sandro Santana posted his fifth-consecutive scoreless outing of the bullpen with a perfect ninth inning to record his first save with Springfield.

NOTES:
• Rodriguez extended his hitting streak to 10 games (18x34) with his four hit night. He's also hit safely in 18 of his last 19 games.
