SAN ANTONIO, TX - Rainiel Rodriguez hit a late solo home run, but the Cardinals were unable to overcome a late deficit and fell to the San Antonio Missions, 5-3, on Wednesday night at Wolff Stadium.

The loss spoiled Yhoiker Fajardo's Double-A debut. The 19-year-old allowed four runs on seven hits over 4.2 innings with eight strikeouts and one walk. All four runs he allowed came with two outs.

Josiah Ragsdale made his debut in the organization and started the scoring for Springfield with a solo home run in his first at-bat.

Sandro Santana retired all four batters he faced in his Cardinals debut with three strikeouts.

NOTES:
• Rodriguez's home run was his 13th of the season at Double-A. He ranks second on the club.
• Won-Bin Cho reached base in all three of his plate appearances. Had a double and three walks.
