The Syracuse Mets have partnered with HearingLife to bring a new closed captioning service to fans with hearing difficulties for all events at NBT Bank Stadium this season.
Fans will scan a QR code which will take them directly to a service provided by “Verbit”. There is no app, and a screen immediately opens on the guest’s phone and begins to show the words being said over the public address system.
The system will pick up the public address system, on-field announcer, and between-inning information on the video board, filtering out music and the broadcast.
Fans will be directed to the service via a QR code on signage in and around the stadium, at the Gannon Pest Control Guest Service Desk, the game program, and on the video board prior to the game.
