Toledo OH, - The Toledo Mud Hens (65-70) got shut out by the Indianapolis Indians (66-70), on Friday, September 4 at Fifth Third Field. The Hens were outhit, 9-5, and fell, 6-0, to the Indians.

Toledo entered game four hot off a game three that was just shy of a no hitter. The first inning started in the same fashion. Dylan File and the Hens' defense put away the first three Indians faced.

Back-to-back singles started Indy's second, the next three got sent back to the dugout. The Hens knocked a couple singles in the home half, but the game remained scoreless through two.

File continued to retire the Indians in order in the third and fourth, with a pair of punch outs in the latter.

Indianapolis hit the scoreboard first after a two-run long shot in the fifth (2-0). The visitors tallied an additional triple, double, and run on a wild pitch to catcher, Bennett Lee, for a quick three-run lead. An RBI-single followed two pitches later (4-0). Trei Cruz dropped a double down in the bottom of the inning, but a double play ended it for Toledo.

The Indians opened the sixth inning with a leadoff home run (5-0). Hayden Minton replaced File after 5.1 innings of work. Brenan Hanifee took to the mound in the seventh after Minton struck out the final two in the sixth.

Another run was added to the opponent’s score in the seventh from an RBI-double to the left, which extended the lead to six. (6-0)

Indianapolis retired nine Toledo batters in a row before Max Anderson walked in the eighth. The Hens remained scoreless.

Brant Hurter and Luke Taggart were the final two out of the pen for Toledo and the Hens were held scoreless through nine.

Looking ahead, Toledo will be back at home on Saturday, September 5, for game five vs. Indianapolis and they look to jump back into the win column. First pitch is set for 7:05p.m.
