Say hello to your 2014 Toledo Mud Hens
Mud Hens fans will recognize many of the players on the Opening Day roster - almost half of the team played in Toledo last year. Veterans Mike Hessman and Nate Robertson return to the team this season, along with a number of top Tigers prospects. The Hens get the season started on Friday, April 4 with the first of six straight home games.
2014 marks the 28th consecutive season affiliated with the Detroit Tigers. The 2014 team will be led by International League Hall of Fame Manager Larry Parrish, returning to Mud Hens for his third stint with the team. Rounding out the coaching staff are Hitting Coach Leon "Bull" Durham (14th season), Pitching Coach Al Nipper (first season), Athletic Trainer Chris McDonald (first season), and Strength Coach Kyle Bergman (fourth season).

The Mud Hens open the 2014 season at Fifth Third Field against Louisville on Friday, April 4, with first pitch at 4 p.m. Mud Hens Opening Day is already the biggest party day of the year in the Glass City, and it's getting even bigger this year with a special "Downtown Doubleheader", as the Toledo Walleye will be taking on Ft.
