The 2021 regular season has come to an end, and your Wichita Wind Surge have made it to the playoffs! After a close league finish, it has been determined that the Wind Surge will be competing against the NW Arkansas Naturals for the Double-A Central Championship!
The five game Championship series began on Tuesday September 21st in Springdale, AR at Arvest Park. After falling short in Games 1 and 2 in Springdale on the 21st and 22nd, the Surge will return home to Wichita for Game 3 at Riverfront Stadium on Friday September 24th at 7:05 p.m. Games 4 and 5 will also be played at Riverfront Stadium, on Saturday, September 25th and Sunday, September 26th, should they be necessary.
Playoff Structure
At the Double-A level, the top two teams in the league will compete in a best-of-5 game set. These top two teams are determined based upon best regular season winning percentage. Playoffs will begin on Tuesday September 21st, with the number 2 seed hosting the first two games on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the number 1 seed, the Wichita Wind Surge, hosting the final game on Friday (and Saturday/Sunday if necessary).
