Wichita, KS- The Wind Surge bat’s stay hot as they tally nine hits to record their second straight win on the young season to beat Northwest Arkansas 4-2.
Spencer Steer started off the game hitting an RBI double to bring in Austin Martin in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead.
Alex Isola followed up the following inning with a solo shot to left-center field to record his first home run of the season, tallying three hits in the game.
Michael Helman added an RBI triple in the top of the third, followed by an Andrew Bechtold RBI single to extend the lead to 4-0.
Woods-Richardson posted another efficient start on the mound, earning his first win of the season and retiring the first six batters he faced and pitched three straight scoreless innings in five total innings, adding three strikeouts and just two hits on 81 pitches before being relieved by Kody Funderburk.
Austin Martin was a threat on the bases the entire night, stealing four bases on four attempts.
Nathan Eaton kept the Naturals in the game as he reached on a fielding error by third baseman Spencer Steer to bring in Seuly Matias and followed his next at-bat with an RBI Triple in the bottom of the 6th to cut the Surge lead to 4-2.
Austin Schulfer earned his first save of the season pitching the ninth inning.
