Winston-Salem (60-59) jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first. Mario Camilletti walked to lead off the game and came home to score on the next at bat. Jacob Burke doubled home Camilletti and moved to third on a throwing error with the Dash taking a 1-0 lead. Burke came home to score on a sacrifice fly and Winston-Salem led 2-0 after an inning.

Dash starter Josimar Cousin worked through a quick second, but Rome (59-65) cut the lead in half in the third. Ignacio Alvarez singled home a run making it a 2-1 game. The Braves did not let up in the fourth. Stephen Paolini pushed Rome in front on a two-RBI single giving the visitors their first lead, 3-2.

The lead did not last long as Brooks Baldwin led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer to right, his second in as many nights, tying the game at three.

Pitching settled down until the sixth when Winston-Salem threatened to regain the lead. Burke reached on a fielder's choice and moved into scoring position with two outs. Dash catcher Michael Turner worked himself into a hitter's count and delivered, driving home Burke putting Winston-Salem ahead, 4-3.

The Dash held the lead until the eighth when Rome got to Dash reliever, Jordan Mikel, after Keshawn Ogans smacked a RBI double to left-center tying the game again, 4-4.
