Amidst the Worcester Red Sox’ six-game homestand against the Durham Bulls, Triple-A Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, Polar Park hosted a “Take Two Tuesday” promotion, selling two All-American Cheeseburgers for the price of one. The deal ran on Tuesday, August 2.

The promotion was a smashing success, according to Alex Lilley, Director of Food and Beverage for Professional Sports Catering at Polar Park.

“We sold 978 cheeseburgers Tuesday, whereas on a normal Tuesday we only sell 113, on average,” Lilley said.

With the success of Cheeseburger Night at Polar Park, the WooSox will run the same promotion as their next “Take Two Tuesday” on August 30, when the Buffalo Bison, Triple-A Affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, visit Worcester.

A new promotion this year, Polar Park has hosted “Take Two Tuesdays” for the entirety of its second season of operation. This season, the promotion has featured donut holes, hot dogs, french fries, and pretzels, among other food and fan-friendly items.

“Worcester loves their food, and they love their All-American Cheeseburgers,” Lilley said. “It’s a great deal, because a burger is typically $6, and you’re getting two at that price point.”

The WooSox run a promotion every home game, with “Take Two Tuesday” typically opening the homestand each week. “Give-a-Wednesdays” gift fans bobbleheads and novelties, most recently depicting Tate Matheny’s home run-robbing catch from August 1, 2021. Thursdays are WooU College Nights, and Fridays end with a bang, thanks to Unibank Fireworks. The homestands conclude with Saturday’s Sunset Catch on the Field, presented by Dunkin’, and Sunday’s Kids Run the Bases, presented by HP Hood, and Fallon Family Funday.
