WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Red Sox today announced their 2023 Promotional Schedule, which features the return of popular promotions and the debut of several new themes for children, families, and young adults.

Innovations include “Taco and Tequila Tuesdays,” “Woof Woof Wednesdays,” and “Throwback Thursdays” featuring Red Sox Legends.

Popular mainstays such as Friday Night “UniBank Fireworks,” Saturday “Sunset Catches on the Field” presented by Dunkin’, and “Fallon Health Family Funday Sundays,” when HP Hood presents “Kids Run the Bases,” all return for a third straight year.

In addition, the WooSox will emphasize their regional theme with 23 “Town Takeovers,” up from 18 in WooSox ‘22, the first year of the initiative.

Ten “Heritage Nights,” and eight “Los Wepas de Worcester” games presented by La Mega Radio are intended to roll out the red carpet to fans of even more cultures and backgrounds.

Special nights will also put the spotlight on autism acceptance, ALS, Alzheimer’s, deaf and hard of hearing, childhood cancer, and more. Peanuts will again be prohibited on the Simply Orthodontics Berm at every game.

Tickets for Opening Day and April & May go on sale this Saturday, December 10, on line, by phone, and at Polar Park’s 2nd annual “WooSox Winter Wonderland” free family festival. Single game tickets are going on sale earlier than ever.

Opening Day Friday, March 31, will be the earliest a Red Sox Triple-A team has ever begun a season. The WooSox will face the Syracuse Mets (Triple-A, New York Mets) at 4:05 p.m., with “UniBank Fireworks” concluding the evening.

“Military Opening Day” Saturday, April 1, at 4:05 p.m., will end with a “Sunset Catch on the Field” presented by Dunkin’. And Sunday, April 2, at 1:05 p.m., is “Kids Opening Day” and a “Fallon Health Family Funday Sunday,” when HP Hood presents “Kids Run the Bases.”

New to WooSox ’23, nine children will be selected at every Sunday home game to run out to one of the nine positions on the field alongside a WooSox player for the performance of the national anthem.

Many of the WooSox’ new promotions will debut during their second homestand, from Tuesday, April 11, through Sunday, April 16, against the Columbus Clippers (Triple-A, Cleveland Guardians).

On “Taco & Tequila Tuesdays,” fans can purchase three tacos and a margarita for only $12.

On “Woof Woof Wednesdays” on Wednesday nights, fans can bring their pooches to Polar Park. Unlike “Bark in the Park,” “Woof Woof Wednesdays” will not include a pre-game doggy parade on the field, but fans can sit with their furry friends anywhere in the seating bowl or on the Simply Orthodontics Berm. “Bark in the Park” is scheduled for Saturday, April 15, and Sunday, August 13.

On “Throwback Thursdays,” fans can see, hear from, and meet Red Sox legends. The club will invite a host of players from the 2013 World Champions, who celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2023.

To celebrate Worcester’s cultural diversity, in addition to Wepas games, the WooSox will host 10 “Heritage Nights.” Featured communities include Greek, Albanian, Ghanaian, Irish, Italian, Jewish, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, and Southeast Asian.
