RENO, Nev. – The Reno Aces (19-20) claimed the series against the Tacoma Rainiers (21-18), the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, this past week at Greater Nevada Field. Reno took the first three games before dropping Friday's game but quickly turned over the loss and clinched the series on Saturday.

The Aces' impressive start to the series on Wednesday was a testament to their collective effort and team spirit. Reno's offense was firing on all cylinders, collectively going 18-for-39 (.461) at the plate, with four extra-base hits, including two home runs. Albert Almora Jr. was a standout performer, gathering three hits in five at-bats, highlighted by a lead-off home run in the bottom of the first inning. Reno's offense continued to dominate, exploding for 10 combined runs in the sixth and seventh innings to put away Tacoma decisively.

Thursday night was a rollercoaster of emotions as Adrian Del Castillo emerged as the hero for Reno. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning and the game tied, Del Castillo took his turn at the plate with runners on first and second. The lefty came through for his team and Aces fans, roping a line-drive single into right field to give Reno their first walk-off win.

After dropping Friday's matchup, the BLC-Nine bounced back accordingly on Saturday, featuring a nine-run, nine-hit second inning to drive Reno to a series win. Kyle Garlick and Kolten Wong were the heavy hitters in the win. Garlick clubbed his ninth home run of the season with a three-run shot, and Wong reached base five times, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two base-on-balls while driving in four runs.

Andres Chaparro continued his masterclass at the plate in 2024. The 25-year-old went 11-for-24 (.458) in the series, featuring his best day at the plate this season. In Friday's 12-10 loss, Chaparro went 3-for-5 with a double and two home runs while driving in six of Reno's runs. The power hitter has been scorching hot at the plate in May, gathering 19 hits in 42 at-bats with eight extra-base hits (three home runs) and 15 RBI.

Blake Walston was dominant in his start on Wednesday, limiting Tacoma to just one run on two hits and two walks through 6.0 innings. He struck out five. Over his past three starts, the southpaw has allowed just two runs in 17 innings while striking out 14. In that span, he has lowered his ERA from 6.14 to 4.05.

The Aces will return to Greater Nevada Field with a six-game set against the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. The series will begin on Tuesday, May 28th, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
