Turning Point
After a first-inning run on first baseman Nellie Rodríguez 's RBI double, the RubberDucks extended the lead in the third inning against All-Star left-hander Zac Lowther (8-5). Shortstop Ernie Clement singled to left field and stole second base, and he scored when Call doubled to left field. After that, he never allowed a runner into scoring position and did not allow a hit after the leadoff batter in the second inning. He retired 10 batters in a row before he issued a two-out walk in the sixth inning. He exited the game after 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and three walks with seven strikeouts. For Bowie, Lowther allowed five earned runs on eight hits - both season highs - in five innings, snapping his four-start winning streak.
