Heading into the Break, Isotopes Drop Third Straight to Rainiers

The Isotopes brought the winning run to the plate in the ninth but were not able to capitalize as Albuquerque fell to the Rainiers on Sunday evening, 8-6. The loss is the third in a row for the Isotopes as they head into the All-Star Break.

In his second start with the Isotopes, Jon Gray allowed two earned runs on five hits over his 4.2 innings on the mound. The 26-year-old struck out seven and walked four while throwing 102 pitches on the evening. Gray did not get a decision.
Scott McGough took the loss for Albuquerque after allowing five runs while recording just two outs.
A triplet of Rockies relievers made rehab appearances for the Isotopes as Bryan Shaw, Zac Rosscup and Carlos Estévez each recorded a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.
At the plate, three Isotopes recorded multi-RBI games as Mike Tauchman, Ryan McMahon and Drew Weeks each knocked home a pair of runs. McMahon registered nine RBI during the five-game series.
The Isotopes and the rest of Triple-A baseball now head into the All-Star Break. Monday will feature the Home Run Derby and Skills Competition, Tuesday will be the workout day and Wednesday will feature the All-Star Game. The Isotopes are back in action on Thursday when they open a four-game series in Las Vegas.
