Albuquerque Isotopes manager Warren Schaeffer's first staff has been finalized and will feature a mix of new and returning faces in the dugout.

As announced in December, Schaeffer will be entering his first season as Isotopes manager after spending the previous two campaigns at the helm of Double-A Hartford.

The 35-year-old has a 344-347 record over his five-year managerial career. Schaeffer's first skipper assignment was with the Single-A Asheville Tourists from 2015-17. In his first season with Ashville, he guided the Tourists to the South Atlantic League Championship Series. Schaeffer had a .500 winning percentage in his two years with Hartford including a 73-66 record in 2019.

The Western Pennsylvania native began his coaching career in 2013-14 as a hitting coach for Short-Season Tri-City in the Northwest League. Before entering the coaching ranks, Schaeffer played six years in the Minor Leagues, all in the Rockies organization. An infielder, he was selected by Colorado in the 38th round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft and proceeded to play for Rookie Level Casper (2007), Short-Season Tri-City (2007), Single-A Asheville (2008), High-A Modesto (2009), Double-A Tulsa (2010-12) and Triple-A Colorado Springs (2010-11).

Schaeffer will be joined by hitting coach Tim Doherty, returning to the Isotopes for his third consecutive season and fifth with the Rockies organization. He was named the 2012 assistant hitting coach for the Boston Red Sox, serving under current Rockies hitting coach Dave Magadan.

Doherty, 53, coached nine seasons with the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association from 2003-11, serving as their hitting coach from 2003-09 and the T-Bones manager in his final two seasons.

Joining the Isotopes for his first season in Albuquerque will be pitching coach Blaine Beatty, his second year with the Rockies organization. In 2019, Beatty served as pitching coach for Rookie Level Grand Junction. Prior to joining the Rockies, Beatty spent 13 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles organization, most recently serving as the pitching coach for High-A Frederick from 2017-18 (as well as 2006-08, 10-12). He has served in the same role with Single-A Delmarva (2009, 2016) and Double-A Bowie (2014-15). Before joining the Orioles, Beatty served as a pitching coach in the Mets system (2003-05) and the Pirates system (1998-02).

Beatty, 55, played 12 seasons (1986-1997) professionally with stints in the Orioles organization (1986-87), Mets (1988-91), Expos (1992), Pirates (1993, 96-97) and Reds (1994-95). The Texas native appeared in seven Major League games (one start) with the Mets between 1989-91, recording a 2.30 ERA (4er/15.2ip) and 10 strikeouts.

Returning to the Isotopes for his sixth season is athletic trainer Heath Townsend. The 2020 season will mark Townsend's 21st with the Rockies organization.

Rounding out the Isotopes staff will be physical performance coach Phil Bailey. Bailey spent the 2017-2019 campaigns in the same role with Double-A Hartford after joining the Rockies organization in 2016.
