Isotopes To Honor America, Raise Funds With "Stars & Stripes" Caps

July 2, 2014

On the Fourth of July, the Albuquerque Isotopes will honor America and help raise much-needed funds for Welcome Back Veterans, an organization dedicated to addressing the ongoing needs of military personnel and their families, by wearing a specially design "Stars & Stripes" cap from New Era Cap Company.

Players will wear the caps during their July 4th game against the Las Vegas 51s, and the caps will also be sold in the Isotopes Pro Shop on Friday while supplies last. Due to the limited quantity, the caps will not be available online.

Minor League Baseball, in conjunction with its licensing partner Major League Baseball Properties, will once again donate 100 percent of the proceeds from cap sales to Welcome Back Veterans as part of its contribution to the program. Since the program's inception in 2010, MiLB has contributed annually to the veterans' organization. A total of 113 Minor League teams will wear the specialty caps as part of the fundraising and awareness initiative.

Berm tickets for Friday night's game are now on sale for $9 at Isotopes Park Box Office and at Ticketmaster outlets, including internet, phone, and retail locations. Fans are encouraged to act fast as availability of Berm Seating is limited for the Independence Day game. Isotopes Park gates will open at 4:30 p.m. to allow fans an early seat for all the fun, and the game is scheduled to begin at 6:05 p.m. The July 4th post-game fireworks extravaganza is presented by US Bank, weather permitting.

Good seats still remain for each game of the split doubleheader on Saturday. The first game is scheduled to begin at 12:05 p.m. while the nightcap is slated for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Fireworks are also scheduled (weather permitting) to be launched following Saturday's night game, presented by Cricket Wireless. Each game on Saturday will be seven-inning contests and separate tickets are required for each game. UNM will not be charging fans for parking during the 12:05 p.m. game.
