Pitchers' Duel Goes in River Cats' Favor

Antonio Senzatela allowed only one run in 6.0 innings for his longest outing of the season Saturday night, but the Isotopes (26-24) were shut out by the River Cats (24-26), 2-0, at Raley Field.
 

Four Sacramento pitchers including former MLB All-Stars Madison Bumgarner and Mark Melancon, who were both making rehab appearances with the River Cats, held the Isotopes hitless for 7.1 innings. Elliot Soto and Anthony Phillips hit back-to-back singles in the eighth inning to end Sacramento's no-hit bid. The two singles were the Isotopes only hits on the evening as they were shut out for the third time in 2018.
Senzatela yielded only four hits and walked none during his outing. The 23-year-old right-hander finished the night on a strong note, retiring the final 10 batters he faced. The quality start was Senzatela's first of the year and the seventh by an Isotope this season.
Albuquerque and Sacramento will be back in action Sunday evening from Raley Field. Right-hander Jeff Hoffman will take hill for the Isotopes while lefty Matt Gage will be on the mound for the River Cats. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
