Bats lose a tough one to open the series

NORFOLK, VA- The Louisville Bats (26-40) lost game-one of the three-game series against the Norfolk Tides (28-39) on a walk-off single by former Louisville Bat Paul Janish, 2-1. 
The Louisville Bats scored early in the first inning after Jesse Winker hit a double, scoring Darnell Sweeney, giving the Bats an early 1-0 lead and Winker his 13th double and 34th RBI of the year.
Right-hander Austin Ross (2-1, 4.13) took a no-decision as he allowed one run on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts in six innings.
The Tides tied the game up at one a piece in the bottom of the fourth inning on Logan Schafer's sacrifice bunt scoring Drew Dosch.
Tides' left-hander Jayson Aquino (1-6, 4.30) also took a no-decision, pitching eight innings, allowing eight hits, one unearned run with one walk, and five strikeouts. It was his longest outing of the season.
The Bats and Tides will be back in action tomorrow to play game-two of the three-game series this Father's Day weekend at Harbor Park with first pitch scheduled at 7:05. The Bats are scheduled to start right-handed pitcher Sal Romano (1-1, 1.69), while the Tides are projected to start right-handed pitcher Tyler Wilson (1-4, 4.78).
