Snappers Hitting Coach Heads To Triple A; Heintz Joins Staff

July 2, 2009

Snappers' hitting coach Rich Miller is heading to Triple A Rochester to serve as the Red Wings hitting coach for the remainder of the 2009 season. Miller replaces Riccardo Ingram who is taking a leave from the team for personal reasons.

Taking Miller's place as the Snappers Hitting Coach will be Chris Heintz. Heintz, a catcher, was originally drafted in the 19th round by the Chicago White Sox in 1996, and spent six seasons with the Sox minor league system. Minnesota signed him as a free agent on November 10th, 2003 and he played four seasons in the Twins organization including spending parts of three seasons with the big league club. Heintz will join the team on July 8th when the Snappers open up a six-game homestand.

The Snappers will take on the Cedar Rapids Kernels tonight with game time scheduled for 7:00pm, and wrap up the four game series tomorrow night, July 3rd, with first pitch scheduled for 7:00pm, and fireworks to follow the game.
