Double-A History

Since the Seattle Pilots moved to Milwaukee to become the Milwaukee Brewers in 1970, the Brewers have consistently fielded a Double-A affiliate. The first Double-A affiliate to reach the playoffs, and four wins later, win a league title was the 1980 Holyoke Millers of the Eastern League. Since then, a Brewers Double-A affiliate has reached the playoffs 23 times, including 5 appearances from the Biloxi Shuckers.

Over 50 years of Double-A affiliate history, a Brewers affiliate has won a league championship 4 times: 1980, 1986, 1994 and 2001. While the 2001 title was shared with the Jacksonville Suns due to the attacks of September 11, it remains the last league championship won by a Brewers Double-A affiliate. No Brewers Double-A affiliate has won an outright league title since 1994 with the El Paso Diablos.

The Shuckers are looking to become the first Brewers Double-A affiliate to win an outright Southern League title. A Brewers affiliate has called the Southern League home since 1999, with an additional year in 1970 with the Jacksonville Suns.
