Barnabas Health BlueClaws 5K on April 7th
The BlueClaws have also partnered with the Ocean Running Club and Jersey Shore Running Club for the event, which starts at 10 am with the one-mile Fun Run and continues at 10:30 with the 5K Race. Both races finish on FirstEnergy Park playing field.
Speaking about the one-mile Fun Run, Jean M. Flaherty, Director of Marketing and Physician Services for Barnabas Health said: "This event has brought out people of all ages and fitness levels in the past, and we expect a bigger and better turnout this year. The Fun Run/Walk provides a non-competitive platform for people to get moving in a way that is beneficial to their health."
All participating runners will receive a ticket to that afternoon's BlueClaws game against Kannapolis (1:05 p.m. first pitch), and all pre-registered runners will receive a BlueClaws 5K t-shirt. Awards will be presented to the top three male and top three female finishers. The top three finishers in each of the five age groups will also receive awards.
Surrounding the races, there will also be a health fair with a series of vendors promoting a healthy lifestyle.
There are three ways runners can register for the event: sign up online, download, print and mail this registration form to FirstEnergy Park, or call Lindsay Lubeck at 732-901-7000 ext 100.
Registration is $20 for the 5K Run and $10 for 1-Mile Fun Run through March 24th, and $25 and $15 after March 24th.
