A Perfect Fit
Kernels and Perfect Game USA announce naming rights partnership
It's a 'perfect fit' as on March 25, 2009 the Cedar Rapids Kernels and Perfect Game USA announced a five-year field naming rights partnership. The field at Veterans Memorial Stadium will be named the "Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium".
At the press conference held Wednesday, March 25, Kernels President Tom Barbee officially announced the partnership between Perfect Game USA and the Kernels.
Perfect Game USA (www.perfectgame.org), based here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is devoted to furthering the development and career of the talented high school baseball player. To that end, Perfect Game USA produces the very highest national level individual player showcases and team tournaments all over the United States. These events have proved invaluable to the college coaching community and major league baseball as they can scout a large population of talented ball players all in one location.
This is not the first partnership between the Kernels and Perfect Game USA. Veterans Memorial Stadium has hosted several Perfect Game Showcase Camps since the stadium opened in 2002. And Perfect Game is a major supporter of the annual Kernels Foundation/Perfect Game USA Wood Bat Baseball Tournament, held in September.
Exact terms of the agreement were not discussed, except that the agreement extends through the 2019 season.
Kernels General Manager Jack Roeder said, "Having a relationship with Perfect Game USA says it all. It's a perfect fit for Perfect Game and the Kernels.
