The foundation of the Cedar Rapids Kernels has always been the great community of Cedar Rapids and Eastern Iowa. Our ballclub is proud to have Mr. Shucks and Kernels players out in the community as much as possible and make appearances over 140 times per season when their schedules allow. If you're wanting Mr. Shucks or Kernels players to attend your next event, please fill out the form below.
Please keep in mind that $75 per hour appearance fees are associated with select appearance requests but are waived for groups that hold a group outing or a sponsorship with the Kernels. All appearance requests are subject to availability and must be submitted at least two weeks before your event date to be considered.

Mr. Shucks, the team mascot, is very active in the community year-round! Submit your application today!
- Any appearance over 25 miles will incur an additional $10 for transportation costs.
- $75 per hour appearance fees are associated with select appearance requests but are waived for groups that hold a group outing or a sponsorship with the Kernels.
- All Mr. Shucks appearances are based on availability. No sponsor or group will take precedence over any previously scheduled appearance.
- All appearance request forms must be submitted a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.
- Any required payment is due 48 hours before the appearance.
- 2-hour maximum on all appearances.

Players are available on a limited basis between the months of April and August. Kernels player appearances are only available on the mornings of game days. Submit your application today if a Kernels Player would benefit your event!
Sponsors and Group Outings can have one player appearance.
Examples of the kind of events for player appearances:
Private parties: birthday, retirement, graduation, etc.
Little league games, tournaments, or rec leagues
Visiting Summer Camps that don't have a group outing at the ballpark.
Appearance Request Forms must be submitted 2 weeks before your desired appearance date.
2-hour maximum on all appearances.
Appearances are only available between 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM on the mornings of Kernels game days.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels reserve the right to distribute any literature or prizes during your appearance. Mr. Shucks does not speak but will pose for pictures and sign autographs. Mr. Shucks reserves the right to walk away from any appearance that the performer, or handler, deems unsafe or harmful to them and/or guests. The Cedar Rapids Kernels are not liable for damages inadvertently caused by the costume.
