2023 Nick Adenhart Memorial Scholarship winners are selected

Cedar Rapids, IA – The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Kernels Foundation are pleased to announce that Lindsey Hospodarsky and Brody Gilkison have been chosen as the 2023 scholarship recipients. They will be recognized during a pre-game ceremony prior to the June 18^th Kernels game.

Lindsey Hospodarsky, a graduating senior from Alburnett High School, plans to attend Iowa State University this fall, studying agriculture and life science education. While in school she participated in cross country, wrestling, basketball, track and field, softball, and weightlifting. She’s also active in 4-H, FFA, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Brody Gilkison, a graduating senior from Kennedy High School, plans to attend Yale University majoring in ethics, politics, and economics while also on the pre-law track. He’s a member of the Air Force Reserves Officer Training Corps and plans to enter the JAG Corp to serve his country. While in school he was involved in golf, baseball, and basketball. He is also involved in Special Olympics, National Honor Society, and Student Council.

Nick’s family continues to honor him with the awarding of two $1,000 scholarships in his memory. The Kernels Foundation is privileged to administer the scholarships on behalf of Nick’s family.
