Could you be the next Mr. Shucks?

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels are looking for a qualified person to become the Kernels mascot, Mr. Shucks. The position is full-time seasonal and begins on April 1, 2012.

Job duties include (but are not limited to): Performing at all 70 Kernels home games; making regular appearances at community and school events in eastern Iowa and assisting the Kernels Marketing Director with community appearances; making appearances at approximately 25 school assemblies during the spring; make an appearance at all non-game day birthday parties booked at the stadium; manage the mascot Facebook page and respond to all emails; and plan and perform in-game skits and videos. Previous mascot experience is preferred, but not required.

The Kernels open the 2012 MWL season on the road at Wisconsin on Thursday, April 5. They open the 2012 home season in Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Monday, April 9 vs. Clinton at 6:35 pm. Season tickets and 10-game coupon books are on sale now at the stadium or on-line at www.kernels.com. Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, March 19 at 10 am.
