Kernels National Anthem Auditions on March 18th and 19th

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels are hosting National Anthem Auditions for the upcoming 2016 season on Friday, March 18^th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 19^th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Individuals and small groups are welcome to audition to perform the Star Spangled Banner before one of the Kernels 70 home games during the 2016 season. Those wishing to audition should come to the stadium during the above times, enter through the Administration Office entrance and proceed to the suite level (3rd floor). Auditions are held on a first-come, first-heard basis and warm-up room is available.

Guidelines for auditioning:

• Performances must be kept under one minute and thirty seconds
• All vocal submissions must be a cappella
• Instrumental auditions are welcome
• Participants must sing from memory (reading lyrics will not be allowed during auditions or performances)

All groups and individuals must complete a National Anthem Audition form, which is available for download by clicking here (PDF version). Audition forms will also be available at the stadium. 2016 season ticket packages and 10-game coupon books are on sale now at the stadium, or by calling the Kernels at (319) 363-3887. Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, March 14th at 10 AM.

The 2016 Kernels arrive in Cedar Rapids on Monday, April 4^th and your first chance to meet the new team is on Tuesday, April 5^th as part of 'Meet the Kernels Night'. The Kernels open the 2016 MWL season on Thursday, April 7^th against the Quad Cities River Bandits at 6:35 PM.
