IHSAA 3A and 4A State Baseball Tournament to Return to Cedar Rapids in 2026

Cedar Rapids, IA - The IHSAA Class 3A and 4A State Baseball Tournament will be held at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids for 2026, 2027, and 2028. The Kernels also hosted the 2024 IHSAA 3A and 4A State Baseball Tournament.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host the IHSAA 3A and 4A State Baseball Tournaments for 2026 through 2028," Cedar Rapids Ball Club CEO Doug Nelson said.
The tournament exhibited great turnout from the local community, as well as from traveling teams and their supporters.
“Our sincere appreciation goes out to these communities and ballparks for hosting these tournaments,” IHSAA Baseball Administrator Andy Umthun said.
The Kernels are playing a home series during the 2025 tournament, so the tournament will be played in Sioux City. The return of the tournament in 2026 is exciting for both the Kernels and city of Cedar Rapids.
“Thanks to a great team effort, our state baseball tournament will continue to be showcased at first-class facilities with outstanding hosts,” IHSAA Executive Director Tom Keating said.
Projected tournament dates for 2026 through 2028 (pending Unified Calendar approval): July 20-24, 2026; July 19-23, 2027; July 17-21, 2028.
