CLINTON, IOWA - Ryne Inman and the Clinton LumberKings defeated Blayne Enlow and the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 1-0, Friday at Ashford University Field. Clinton (22-25, 61-56) avoided the three-game sweep, but Cedar Rapids (30-17, 62-54) finished with a 2-1 series win along with a 9-7 head-to-head advantage in this year's season series.
Inman (4-8) snapped a six-decision losing streak and earned his first victory since May 31 against the Quad Cities River Bandits. He tied a season high with seven strikeouts over six-plus innings pitched, and he retired 18 of 21 batters faced including 13 consecutive outs in one stretch.

Enlow (2-5) limited the damage over five innings for Cedar Rapids but was tagged with the loss due to the lack of run support. He allowed just one run and suffered his third consecutive losing decision. Jared Finkel followed Enlow with three scoreless innings of relief.
Juan Camacho, the catcher for Clinton's 1-0 shutout, drove in the game's only run during the second inning. Johnny Adams picked up a one-out single before Onil Pena reached via force out. Camacho followed with a double off the left-field line that drove in Pena from first base.
Marvin Gorgas and Sam Delaplane combined for three scoreless innings of relief to complete the LumberKings' narrow win. Gorgas stranded a pair of runners in the seventh to highlight his team-high fourth hold. Delaplane inherited a bases-loaded jam in the ninth, but he produced a strikeout and a game-ending groundout to secure his team-high eighth save.
This five-game Kernels road swing continues this weekend at Quad Cities.
