Dayton, Ohio – The Dayton Dragons and Montgomery County Environmental Services are teaming up for another season of the Recycling Bin Initiative (RBI). This free, fun, and educational program creates an opportunity for kids and families to learn about household recycling and its economic and environmental benefits.

Similar to previous years, the RBI Program will require families to track their recycling for two weeks. Participants are strongly encouraged to continue recycling after their two weeks are up.

All participants will receive up to four lawn tickets to RBI Night at a Dragons game, exclusive RBI gifts, and eligibility to win other great Dragons prizes and experiences.

The program intends to educate participants on what items can and cannot be recycled. This year, participants are asked to continue to “recycle right.”

“Not everything can be recycled, and some items that can’t be recycled may come as a surprise to many participants,” Montgomery County Commissioner Judy Dodge said. “It’s important that our citizens learn good recycling habits, because having better materials makes the whole recycling system more financially sustainable.”

In the past 12 years of the RBI program, hundreds of thousands of glass, cardboard, plastic, and aluminum pieces have been saved from landfills.
