Dragons to Recognize Community All-Stars Recipient During May 17 Game

DAYTON, Ohio -- The Dayton Dragons will recognize Dayton TWIGs as a “Community All-Stars” recipient during a special inning break of the Dragons game on Friday, May 17, against the Great Lakes Loons at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District. The game will start at 7:05 p.m.
Dayton TWIGs or “Terrific Women in Giving” take every donation and convert it to resources that impact the future of as many children as possible. Since the Dayton TWIG’s founding in 1965, the organization has raised more than $11 million to support patient care. In 2023, Dayton TWIG’s support aided the nearly half a million times a child depended on Dayton Children’s Hospital for care.
The TWIGs raise funds through advocacy, determination, and direct outreach to a generous Miami Valley community. The organization additionally raises funds through numerous fundraising events and projects. The group shines brightest in their annual premier events, the Gem City Jam Golf Outing and Sugarplum Festival of Trees. In 2024, these events will target their $1 million pledge to benefit mental and behavioral health for kids at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Though the TWIG’s key mission is supporting Dayton’s children, their underlying task is connecting thoughtful, dedicated, and enthusiastic women in the community. The organization has 225 members with 16 branches in the Miami Valley. Their hope is to grow, continue to evolve, and build a network of lifelong friendships along the way.
