Vote for the Hale's Jewelers Player of the Month

The Greenville Drive have had a number of standout players during the first two months of the season. Now, the Drive and Hale's Jewelers want you to cast your vote for the Player of the Month for May.

Cast your vote today and you could win a $250 savings certificate to Hale's Jewelers, which is good for a minimum purchase of $500. The lucky fan who casts their vote and is selected as the winner will win the savings certificate and get to participate in a pregame ceremony with the winning player on the field. The nominees for the Hale's Jewelers Player of the Month for May are:

Jose Almonte, RH: Almonte only made three starts, but he made them count, going 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA and being named the SAL Pitcher of the Week this past week after throwing six hitless innings.

Luis Alejandro Basabe, IF: Serving as the sparkplug atop the Drive lineup, Basabe hit .301 in 23 games with two homers, nine RBI, six stolen bases and a .401 on-base percentage.

Anderson Espinoza, RH: In five starts on the mound, Espinoza posted a 3-2 record with a 2.25 ERA. Two of his starts were scoreless, and he struck out 25 batters in 22.2 innings.

Mitchell Gunsolus, IF: Gunsolus was the SAL Player of the Week for May 9-15, and he hit .271 with four homers, including two grand slams, 18 RBI and a .411 on-base percentage.

Josh Ockimey, IF: Ockimey continued his strong offensive start in the middle of the Drive lineup. He swatted four homers, drove in 18 runs and hit .321 while drawing 23 walks with a .467 on-base percentage.

Roniel Raudes, RH: Raudes went 3-0 with a 3.60 ERA in five starts this month while striking out 27 batters and walking only three over 25 innings of work.
