Bulls C Joe Hudson tattooed a three-run shot, however Jumbo Shrimp 2B Bryson Brigman went yard on a two-run bomb as Jacksonville tallied 12 hits (60-48) in a 5-4 win over Durham (59-49) 5-4 on Thursday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Despite the loss, the Bulls maintain a 2-1 series lead in the six-game set.

Jacksonville got on the board first in the opening frame with an RBI single from 1B Jerar Encarnacion before Bulls 3B Tristan Gray would tie the game with an RBI single of his own in the bottom half of the frame. In the third, Encarnacion did more damage at the plate for the Jumbo Shrimp with an RBI double, and 3B Willians Astudillo lined an RBI single in the following at bat for the 3-1 lead. In the fifth, Hudson launched a his three-run shot to put the Bulls in front 4-3. In the sixth, however, Brigman would put the Jumbo Shrimp back in front on a two-run blast.

Jumbo Shrimp starter Matthew Kent earned the win after 5.2 innings of work, allowing four runs on seven hits and ringing up four strikeouts. Bulls starter Taj Bradley suffered the loss.

The Bulls are set to continue their six-game homestand on Friday night against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 pm. RHP Luis Patino is expected to start for Durham and be opposed by RHP Nick Neidert.
