Anderson Garners Player of the Week Honors for the Second Time

Greenville Drive infielder Antonio Anderson has been named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week for August 3rd-9th, marking his second weekly honor of the 2026 season.

Anderson put together a dominant series at the plate against the Hudson Valley Renegades, appearing in four of the Drive’s six games and going 8-for-13 (.615) with two home runs, two doubles, six RBI and seven runs scored.

The 21-year-old recorded at least one hit in each of the four games he played during the series. He opened his week with a home run on Tuesday and capped it with another long ball on Sunday.

Anderson’s performance included four extra-base hits among his eight total hits, helping him post a 1.231 slugging percentage for the week. He reached base consistently throughout the series while providing both run production and power in the Drive lineup.

The honor is Anderson’s second South Atlantic League Player of the Week award this season, after previously earning the recognition for June 22nd-28th. With his latest selection, Anderson becomes the first South Atlantic League player to earn Player of the Week honors multiple times during the 2026 season.

He is also the third different Drive player to receive weekly league honors in 2026, along with Enddy Azocar and Dylan Brown.
