Drive fall to the Crawdads in 5th Game of the Series

The Greenville Drive (12-27, 38-67) fell to the Hickory Crawdads (19-23, 56-51) 6-4. Hickory’s Michael Brewer (1-1, 4.08) took home the win after pitching one inning, and Robert Kwiatkowski absorbed the loss after facing only four batters due to Joey Stock being called to the mound. The Greenville Drive (12-27, 38-67) fell to the Hickory Crawdads (19-23, 56-51) 6-4.

Hickory’s Michael Brewer (1-1, 4.08) took home the win after pitching one inning, and Robert Kwiatkowski absorbed the loss after facing only four batters due to Joey Stock being called to the mound.

The Crawdads struck first on a long home run to right center from Left Fielder Trevor Hauver.

After 3 scoreless innings Fluor Field came alive in the bottom of the 6th as the Drive scored 3 runs on an RBI single from Matthew Lugo and two run sharp single to center by red hot Blaze Jordan.

The Crawdads took the momentum right back in the 7th scoring 4 runs on RBI singles from Keyber Rodriguez, Randy Florentino, and Thomas Saggese plus a bases loaded walk to Jayce Easley that scored Angel Aponte.

Hickory extended their lead by another run in the top of the eighth after a line drive single from Keyber Rodriguez.

The Drive answered by a Marcelo Mayer homerun, but it wouldn't be enough to win, and they fell 6-4.
