The Greenville Drive took home a 6-3 win Thursday night against the Hickory Crawdads.

The Drive bats came out hot early. Joe Davis put the first run of the night on the board by batting in Tyler McDonough. Brandon Howlett followed with a sacrifice fly that brought Matthew Lugo home.

The second inning saw no runs, but Greenville added to their efforts in the third. The inning started with a walk for McDonough who would move to second when Alex Binelas was given a pass to first. Nicholas Northcut took advantage of the baserunners and smacked one out of the park. The Drive then led 5-0.

No player would cross the dish until the bottom of the seventh inning when Hickory finally got on the board. Frainyer Chavez single brought Chris Seis home and Luisangel Acuna batted in Chris Seise.

Greenville tacked on more run in the ninth off the bat of Stephen Scott who brought home Lugo.

The Crawdads would also add one in the ninth, but it wouldn’t be enough for a victory.

The Greenville Drive looks to even the series tonight at 7 PM.
